Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Phablet Review
Rise above competition—that’s what Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is all about. And this device has the right engine to propel Huawei to new heights. Huawei Mate 7 is the culmination of the best device properties that the company has to offer. The Mate 7 has all the great attributes of the devices since the line of the IDEOS Smartphone.
This device upholds the consumer responsibility of Huawei by offering a device that ensures privacy, proper data collection and comes at just the right price. This unit has a deep recognition for user privacy, hence the integration of finger print owner recognition software. On the back portion of the device, just directly below the 13 MP primary back camera, lies the most portable fingerprint scanner in the world. This key feature can support up to five individual fingerprints.
The scanner both functions as owner recognition and toggles the device on and off. Powering this device to reach higher performance altitudes is its eight-core Kirin 925 SoC chipset– the first of its kind. At its flight peak and even on the first ever device boot , having the Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 as its central processing unit ensures that high class performance can be maintained day in and day out. Throw in a Mali T628 GPU for top notch processing and access speeds, then you have a device worth every single penny.
Mate 7 units come in two selections. You may choose the 16GB with 2GB RAM model or 32 GBs with 3GB RAM. Both units can support up to 128 GBs of added digital data storage. Both models also come with a 5MP secondary front camera.
At 6.18 x 3.19 x 0.31 inch dimensions, you will have enough working space to edit photos and video footages. The screen display and resolution makes this device an amazing multimedia playing platform. The Mate 7 can display up to 16 million color variations.
Its big working space calls for better power allocation. Huawei needs to address this need. Upon multiple device tests, The Mate 7 can last six hours at most when used heavily. The built-in power saving mechanics does not suffice as the “Smart setting” only adds less than two hours of extra juice. The maximum power saving option can only prolong the battery life to 15 hours max.
Still, the Mate 7 great device. It will not lead users to over indulge on its overall great functions and features. Huawei may have considered the fact that almost all Smartphone users have adapted to the short lasting power even on the most expensive models. Charging cords are now included on our work essentials.
The Huawei Mate may have “7” as a part of its name, but on a scale of 1-10, seven just won’t cut it. This device is a solid 8 by Goods.ph’s standard. We also know that almost 40% Huawei’s manpower sources are dedicated to research and product development. After the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, we’ll be expecting greater things.
