Undas Cemetery Necessities & Must Brings

In the Philippines All Saints Day (November 1) and All Souls Day (November 2) are special days for families and their dearly departed. It is the macabre holiday where children (like me!) looked forward to for many reasons. For one these are the only 2 days in the whole year kids can play with fire, lighted candles that is! (Rolled into balls or other shapes you can imagine), stay up late outdoors or sit in the grass in the cemetery, cool is it not!

The cemetery or columbarium may be one of the scariest places one could be left in during ordinary days and nights with all the dead people buried and laid to eternal rest there. But, during these 2 days it is literally filled with the living giving respect to their dead loved ones. These hallowed places, cemeteries and columbariums are aglow with lighted candles and filled with flowers of different shape and colors offered by people praying for their souls!

During your visit to the cemetery don’t forget to bring the must-haves: Candles and Flowers for the dearly departed, Tents , Picnic Tables and Chairs  and Umbrellas Potable Bottled Water, Fruit Juices, Soft Drinks, Bread, Biscuits, Candies and food that’s not easily spoilt.
